Fireside Beans

  • 1/2 cup Karo® Light OR Dark Corn Syrup
  • 2 cans (15 ounces each) pork and beans, lightly drained
  • 1 tablespoon grated onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 4 ounces Canadian bacon, sliced and cut in bite size pieces


  1. Mix corn syrup, beans, onion and ginger in a 2-quart casserole dish. Arrange bacon slices on top.
  2. Bake at 375°F for 1 hour, basting bacon 3 or 4 times during baking to glaze.
  3. Recipe note: 4 strips regular bacon may be substituted for Canadian bacon. Cut each strip into 4 pieces.
