Peanut Butter Frosting

Perfect on a chocolate cake or brownies. Garnish with chopped peanuts if you'd like.

  • 1/2 cup Karo┬« Light OR Dark Corn Syrup
  • 1/2 cup creamy OR chunky peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup butter OR margarine
  • 2 tablespoons rum, brandy OR milk
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 3 cups powdered sugar


  1. Combine corn syrup, peanut butter and butter in a heavy 2-quart saucepan. Bring to boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; stir in rum and vanilla.
  2. Gradually sift 2 cups powdered sugar into mixture, stirring with wire whisk until smooth. Sift remaining powdered sugar into mixture; stir until smooth with wooden spoon.
  3. Cool until thickened and spreading consistency, about 45 minutes.
