Simple Berry Syrup

Use this easy yet impressive fruit syrup as a topping for ice cream, pound cake, waffles, pancakes and French toast!

  • 1-1/2 cups fresh OR frozen strawberries, thawed
  • 1 cup fresh OR frozen cherries, thawed
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup, dark OR light
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract


  1. Combine fruit and corn syrup in a small saucepan.  Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.  Once bubbling, reduce heat and use a wooden spoon to muddle and mash the fruit.  Cover and cook for 8 minutes, stirring occasionally. 
  2. Remove from heat and add vanilla.  Cool and refrigerate until ready to serve.
