TO PREPARE MASK MAKE-UP:
In small bowl mix 3 tablespoons Argo corn starch and 1 tablespoon flour.
Gradually stir in 3/4 cup Karo corn syrup and 1/4 cup water until smooth.
|
 |
 |
 |
Pour about 1/4 cup into each of 4 small bowls or
paper cups. Leave one batch untinted.
Color three remaining batches with desired liquid
or paste food colors. (Use about 1/2 tsp liquid or
1/4 tsp paste food color for each batch. Paste food
colors provide more intense color.) For additional
colors, prepare more make-up. |
 |
 |
 |
TO APPLY MASK MAKE-UP:
Separate 3 to 4 (2-ply) white facial tissues into
single layers; tear lengthwise into 2-inch wide strips. |
 |
 |
 |
Using cotton swabs or a small brush, paint a
generous coat of the untinted make-up on forehead.
Carefully place a strip of tissue over the painted area.
Pat firmly with finger tips. Brush additional untinted
make-up over any dry areas on tissue. Continue
painting and covering the rest of the face with tissue,
one area at a time. DO NOT PAINT EYELIDS OR
AREA AROUND EYES. Use small pieces of torn
tissue to cover any blank spots. Let dry about 15
minutes.
|
 |
 |
 |
Stir colored batches just before using. Using one
color at a time, paint on colors as desired; let dry
slightly before using another color. |
 |
 |
 |
TO REMOVE MASK MAKE-UP:
gently peel tissue off face; wash with soapy water.
|
|
  |

For a deeper, smoother
candy-color effect, use
several coats of the same
color; let dry slightly
between coats.
Use cotton to build up
eyebrows, nose or chin.
Apply while make-up is
still damp. Paint cotton
with untinted make-up;
cover with tissue and
paint with desired color.
To make a beard, apply
cotton along jawline
and on chin; paint with
desired color.
For a ghostly effect,
dust face with flour
after painting with
desired colors.
For "warts," stick on
puffed wheat cereal
with untinted make-up;
paint with desired color.
