Divine Double Dark Brownies

  • BROWNIES:
  • 1/2 cup Karo® Light OR Dark Corn Syrup
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter OR margarine
  • 5 ounces semisweet baking chocolate
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Spice Islands® Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • CHOCOLATE GLAZE:
  • 3 ounces semisweet baking chocolate
  • 1 tablespoon butter OR margarine
  • 2 tablespoons Karo® Light OR Dark Corn Syrup
  • 1 teaspoon milk
  1. Preheat oven to 350ºF. Grease and flour an 8-inch square pan.


  2. Bring corn syrup and butter to boil in a large saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Add chocolate; stir until melted. Add sugar; stir in eggs one at a time, then vanilla, flour and nuts. Pour into prepared pan.


  3. Bake 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool on wire rack 10 minutes. Remove from pan; cool completely.


  4. To prepare CHOCOLATE GLAZE: Melt chocolate and butter in small saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in corn syrup and milk, beating until smooth. Pour over brownies and let stand 1 hour.
