Pecan Pie Bars

All the great flavors of pecan pie in a delectable bar.

  • 2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup butter OR margarine, cut into pieces
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt


  • 4 eggs
  • 1-1/2 cups Karo® Light OR Dark Corn Syrup
  • 1-1/2 cups sugar
  • 3 tablespoons butter OR margarine, melted
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2-1/2 cups coarsely chopped pecans


  1. For CRUST: Preheat oven to 350°F. Mix flour, butter, powdered sugar and salt with an electric mixer until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press firmly and evenly into a greased 15 x 10 x 1-inch pan OR a 17 x 12 x 1-inch pan.
  2. Bake 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  3. For FILLING: Beat eggs, corn syrup, sugar, butter and vanilla in a large bowl until well blended. Stir in pecans.
  4. Pour over hot crust; spread evenly.
  5. Bake 25 minutes at 350°F until filling is firm around the edges and slightly firm in center. Cool completely on wire rack before serving.
  6. Recipe Variations:
  7. Almond Bars:  substitute 2 cups sliced almonds for the 2-1/2 cups pecans.
  8. Walnuts Bars:  substitute coarsely chopped walnuts for the pecans.
