Caramel Oat Peanut Butter Cereal Treats

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup Karo® Light Corn Syrup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 3 cups toasted oat cereal
  • 1 cup quick oats
  • Optional toppings: honey roasted peanuts, peanut butter chips

Directions

  1. Spray 8 x 8-inch pan with cooking spray; set aside.
  2. Combine corn syrup and brown sugar in a medium saucepan over medium heat stirring to melt sugar. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture just begins to boil. Remove from heat and add peanut butter. Stir until peanut butter is completely melted and mixture is smooth.
  3. Add cereals and stir to coat completely. Pour into prepared pan; press firmly to level.
  4. Top with honey roasted peanuts, peanut butter chips or mini chocolate chips, if desired; pat into place. Cool and cut into bars. Store in air tight container for up to 2 days.
