Creamy Vanilla Syrup

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Karo® Light Corn Syrup
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon sea salt

Directions

  1. Heat the corn syrup, sugar and cream in a medium saucepan until sugar is dissolved and mixture comes to a boil.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and salt.
  3. Store in refrigerator in a covered container until ready to use. Serve warm.
Variations:
  1. Creamy Berry Syrup: Add 1 cup crushed berries such as blueberries, raspberries or mixed berries to corn syrup, sugar and cream. Omit vanilla.
  2. Creamy Bourbon Syrup: Add 2 tablespoons bourbon when adding vanilla and salt. Great on bread pudding.
  3. Creamy Amaretto Syrup: Add 2 tablespoons amaretto when adding vanilla and salt.
  4. Creamy Spiced Syrup: Add 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon and 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg with vanilla and salt.
